Namaste & Welcome to FoVIN International
Volunteers Initiative Nepal
VIN - Volunteers Initiative Nepal - is a Nepalese NGO with a holistic approach to social development.
In rural communities, the suffering caused by poverty can be overwhelming since the needs for basic amenities surpass the local resources.
VIN’s work centers on putting the efforts for change in the hands of local people, based on the philosophy that sustainable and lasting change comes from empowered individuals and communities. International, as well as local people are actively encouraged to volunteer, as VIN aims to unite all sectors of society in working together to develop and run projects.
Together with the local community in which they work, VIN defines the priority areas that need attention and the methods that will be used to address them.
Then, VIN works hand-in-hand with local stakeholders, community leaders, and subject experts to develop and implement effective solutions to the challenges that exist in their villages. International volunteers are invited to participate in the implementing phase.
Once the community has reached a sufficient level of self-sustainability, and project ownership has been transferred to local leadership, VIN removes their active presence from the community. This allows VIN to move on to new communities to repeat the process.
VIN successfully pulled out of their first pilot community in 2019 and currently works in three communities in rural Nepal.
