Professionals Giving Service

Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) is built on teams of volunteers – local and international. This has allowed VIN to accomplish incredible progress since 2007, when they first began their programs. While these volunteers have come for as little as two weeks, with skills as simple as speaking English, VIN now needs specific volunteers with skills, expertise and knowledge in sectors which would otherwise be difficult to get from local staff and volunteers. If you're a working professional or active retiree, VIN needs you!

Sponsor the Education of a Nepali Child

For only $230 (one latte a week for a year) these girls can receive another year's worth of education!

Empower Girls in Need

FVIN supports programs and opportunities for women and girls in Nepal. We are currently fundraising to provide ongoing educational scholarships for 17 girls who have been identified as in need of financial sponsorships in order to continue their education. They want to be pilots, doctors, nurses, singers, teachers and mothers and we are happy and honored to support them!

View Past Projects of Friends of Volunteers Initiative Nepal

Volunteers Initiative Nepal has a great need for professional volunteers to spend extended time giving service to their organization in Nepal.  In an effort to help them find the best professional volunteer for their needs at the moment, Friends of Volunteers Intiative Nepal ran a $3,000 travel award contest at the end of 2014.  The winner (out out several excellent applicants!) is Alexis Baghdadi, a skilled writer/editor from Beirut, Lebanon. Alexis will spend five months in 2015 in service to VIN. Learn about Alexis's volunteer service in Nepal and follow his experiences here.
